Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan: More than 2.83 lakh health camps were conducted nationwide between September 17 and 20 to screen citizens for non-communicable diseases and deliver counselling under the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’, the Health Ministry said. The drive recorded a cumulative footfall of over 76 lakh people.
According to the ministry, screenings covered a wide range of conditions. Over 37 lakh citizens were checked for hypertension and 35 lakh for diabetes. Breast cancer screening reached 9 lakh+ women, while cervical cancer screening covered 4.7 lakh+. Oral cancer checks were conducted for 16 lakh+ individuals.

Maternal and child health services ran in parallel: more than 18 lakh antenatal check-ups were completed, and 51 lakh+ children received routine life-saving vaccinations. In addition, 15 lakh+ people were screened for anaemia, 22 lakh+ for tuberculosis (TB), and 2.3 lakh for sickle cell disease. The campaign also registered 1.6 lakh+ blood donors, and issued 4.7 lakh new Ayushman/PM-JAY cards.
Beyond the NHM network, including Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and AIIMS, other Institutes of National Importance, tertiary hospitals, medical colleges and private providers joined the effort. Together, central institutes, medical colleges and private organisations organised 3,410 speciality screening camps, benefiting 5.8 lakh+ citizens with advanced diagnostics, counselling and treatment, complementing state government and community health worker initiatives.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the campaign on his birthday, September 17, 2025. Calling women’s health the cornerstone of family well-being, the Prime Minister said the campaign aims to ensure no woman is denied early diagnosis for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, anaemia or cancer. He urged women, especially in tribal regions affected by sickle-cell disease, to avail free tests and medicines at the camps, adding that those needing further care can use Ayushman coverage.
